A pirate party… arrrr!

Houston’s had no hesitations telling me he wanted a pirate party this year, and I had no problem keeping up with the theme!  Our morning was complete with pirate hats, eye patches, pirate tattoos, a treasure hunt, lunch and of coarse cake!  We were so lucky to share Houston’s special day with lots of great friends and our wonderful family!

shutterfly!

So if you know me at all you know that I am always searching for a great deal... so what better than just a great deal but a great deal incorporating one of my favorite things of the holiday season.... Christmas Cards! I love giving and recieving those precious little envelopes and this year Shutterfly is offering 50 free Christmas cards to bloggers who spred their joy! I love lots of thier products for personalized gift giving ideas such as these calenders and photobooks.

I can't wait to incoporate pics of my kiddos from this year to send to friends and family! Just the thought of this is getting me in the holiday spirit!!!!! Still haven't decided if I am going to do a collage of recent pics or attempt to get one great family pic of us all together... I feel as if that is nearly impossible these days with both of the wiggle worms! Guess you'll just have to wait in see what I come up with on Shutterfly this year!! This is officially the first time I'm saying this in 2010 but Happy Holidays!

3!!!!

Three years have flown by since one of the most amazing moments of my life. 3 years since I became a Mother. 3 years since I first felt what instant, undeniable, heart wrenching love is. I cannot believe that today my sweet Hoosy man is 3! To my son, my first born let me tell you a few things about you on this special day: You are a wild and crazy energetic little boy, your smiles and dipples melt everyone hearts, you are adventurous and silly and oh so kind hearted. Although there are days when you drive your Mommy "bonkers" as we like to say to each other you are truly a very special blessing sent from God! Some of your favorite things right now are (in no certain order).... pb & j sandwiches, Buzz and Woody, pirates, coloring, painting, singing, dancing, jumping, yelling, laughing, cheetos, clementines, "cow's milk", making forts, riding bikes and scooters, Dirt, blueberries, ice cream, helping mommy cook, "reading" the paper with daddy, teaching "Kennon" the ways of the toddler world, escaping from your room when you are suppose to be asleep, early mornings, sunshine, swimming... and my list can go on.... your daddy and I want you to know how lucky are we that God picked you for us! Happy Birthday to our "little monkey"!

NICU Reunion 2010!

Once again another year has passed and we are blessed to attend another NICU reunion!!! Houston and I had a little date to the party while Daddy and McKennon stayed behind. I had a blast escorting my little NICU alumni around to all the fun games they had planned, we also got to snuggle on a few of our favorite nurses who we are forever grateful for!

Labor Day Weekend!

There is a family tradition on my Mom’s side of the family to go up to my Grandparents in Michigan every labor day and visit a local craft fair.  Unfortunately Mom and I haven’t been able to attend in many years but this year I was DETERMINED we were going.  Brooks stayed behind because of work (and it is more of a girls weekend anyway) while Mom, the kiddos and myself traveled to the big town outside Alpena, Michigan.  My Grandparents spend their summers in their house in Michigan in this awesome private community called Lost Lake Woods.   Just being there flooded my mind with many of my fondest childhood memories…  I LOVE that place….  the smell, the sounds, the peacefulness.   I can’t express how happy it made me to share just one weekend up there with my children…  they may not remember it, but I will.  Here are just a handful of pictures from our trip.  All 5 of my Aunts were there (who are ALL AMAZING), 8 of my cousins, and of course my Grandparents.

Ahh, the bear house…. My cousin Laura and I were carefully teaching Houston how exactly to play with this little piece of nostalgia.  This was our very FAVORITE thing to play with at our grandparents.  Complete with some new modern furnishings as well as the antiques we played with I’m pretty sure Laura and I had more fun playing than Houston did!  Oh and Laura this is my post it note!

My sweet grandparents… Mckennon was less than thrilled to be photographed so this was as good as it got…. oh and the 3 different occasions we attempted a 4 generation pic were unsuccessful… oh well!

Beach 2010

In July we went with the Sisks and the Foxes to Panama City Beach for a much needed vacation!  We had such a great time, even the kiddos who I’m pretty sure didn’t want to leave.  Thanks again to David and Kim for inviting us!
