Happy 1st Birthday to our sweet, beautiful, amazing little girl. Elizabeth McKennon this year has flown by for your mommy and daddy and every moment of your existence has been a blessing. Your smile and laugh can lighten any room, your bright blue eyes melt our hearts and your tiny little feet make us giggle.
Here are just a few things that are special about you on your birthday: You can say Mama, Dada and “all done” (sounds like ahbun!) you can say “more” in sign language and other than that just point for whatever you want. When you crawl you drag one leg and we appropriately call you “scooter”! You can pull up and are becoming quite a pro at cruising around the furniture… you are my little climber and I have to keep a close eye on you because you are very sneaky!
Your sleeping habits are not the best and you like to wake up early in the morning… much to mommy and daddy’s dismay. You give the most amazing little wet kisses and snuggly hugs. You love cheese and fruits and only will eat veggies if they are in a baby food jar. When you are done eating you simply start throwing food off your highchair while laughing (not funny to Mommy!) You adore your big brother and I’m pretty sure that Pops is your favorite person in the whole world! You love to sing and dance and your favorite toy right now is a little green John Deere tractor! McKennon your Mommy and Daddy want you to know that you brighten our world and we love you with all our hearts. Happy birthday Sis and we can’t wait to celebrate with family this weekend!
To say that we have had a hot Tennessee summer would be a small understatement! Temperatures have stayed in the 90’s and hit the low 100’s recently… the only way to beat the heat is play in the water of coarse! We love our little fishes!
Early in the summer we were so lucky to be invited with MeMe and Pops to Watts Barr to visit Pops’ “Ole Beer Business Buddies” at the Hannah’s lake house! To say we had a blast is an understatement!
And what weekend with a few families in the beer business wouldn’t be complete with your children swimming in a silver bullet Coors boat!!!

Here are some of our spring pictures we spent lots of time at the park, Enjoyed a wonderful Easter with family, had a blast at Mule Day with friends, learned how to play in the Tupperware cabinet at Ginna’s and even finally found out what was causing McKennon’s eczema!

And the infamous allergy testing! McKennon’s eczema had become so bad that we were at the dermatologist every 2 weeks trying different creams, lotions and steroid therapies… nothing was working! Mckennon was miserable, wasn’t sleeping and was scratching herself silly to the point of oozing and bleeding…. oooyyy… so eventually we were able to see a wonderful allergist in Nashville and after 39 skin pricks and lots of tears from Mommy and baby the verdict was Garlic and Eggs… and since I was still breastfeeding whatever I was eating she was too! So after 9 months we finally knew what was causing her terrible rash! We are now garlic and egg free and I cannot tell you how much better her skin looks… it is a total turn around… Thank you Lord!

Today was the first day of preschool (well mother’s day out for Mckennon)! They are attending Pleasant Heights Baptist Church 2 days a week, where many of our little friends are going too! Houston’s in Miss Lindsay’s class and Mckennon is in Miss Melissa’s. Getting a picture of them together is near impossible these days so I take what I can get!
